What’s this? A knitting post?

23 Jan

One of the first things I did after finishing the non-bloggable project was start working on WIPs that languished in the wake of school and knitting deadlines.

Here’s my Raglan Heather:

While I realize that this is not the most flattering sweater in the world- I love it! It is so cold in Pittsburgh, and I’ve never lived anywhere truly cold before (hello… PNW? Hawaii? Georgia? temperate to tropical…). So my knitting focus has been on wool, and lots of it, to keep my body warm! I knit this sweater to (1) use up scraps in my stash, these are leftovers from sweaters, (2) be warm. It delivered on both accounts, and I like it quite a lot to boot. I’ve been wearing it often and will continue to do so.

I also wound my yarn for the coming semester:

This is for my next easy, straightforward but warm pullover, Tea with Jam and Bread:

I cast on last night, it’s a pretty typical raglan with some stripes and minimal shaping, so hopefully it will go relatively quickly. As long as I keep it away from Hela. More on that next week….

    Does the kitten like yarn?

Lovely sweater. I hope you’re wearing enough layers to stay warm. I can NOT imagine living in PGH this time of year. Do you live in an igloo? o.O
